The Nitecore CI7 is essentially two torches in one with the ability to switch from a white light 2500 lumens torch with 4 x Cree XP-G3 S3 LEDs, to a high power infrared (IR) torch utilising 4 x SST-10-IR LEDs. This is achieved with Nitecore's new 'dual beam switching' - simply push the head outwards and rotate to switch between each set of four LEDs.

The Infrared output is rated at 7000mW (940nm) and can be used in conjunction with night vision devices or IR cameras. There are three output levels of 1000mW, 3000mW and 7000mW.

The white light has a maximum output of 2500 lumens with a range of up to 279 meters. The beam profile is wide and even for a comfortable viewing experience.

The CI7 is operated via a dual tail switch setup that features momentary on functionality and instant access to strobe via the 'Strobe Ready' mode button. This button is slightly recessed to prevent accidental operation and the strobe randomly changes frequencies to cause a stronger dizzying effect (range 16Hz to 20Hz).

Two operating modes allow the CI7 to be setup in either 'Daily Mode' with momentary access to Turbo and 5 brightness levels or 'Tactical Mode' with direct access to strobe plus 5 brightness levels.

Other notable features of the CI7 are a battery power indicator light in the tail cap, last used mode memory and double layer tube design for increased strength and circuit efficiency.

ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation) regulates the output of the Nitecore CI7 according to the working condition and ambient environment to maintain optimal performance and prevents damage to the LED from overheating.
